Force Appoints New Director of U.S. and Canadian Sales
Force Optical Broadcast Systems , a manufacturer of fiber optic transport equipment, has tapped Leon Urban as the team as Director of U.S. and Canadian sales.

Urban's career spans more than 30 years, beginning in radio and television broadcasting. Later, he sold broadcast equipment, including transportable satellite uplink and fixed earth stations for DalSat in Plano, Texas.

Urban has also worked for MidWest Communications in Atlanta, where he sold and built satellite teleport to Crawford Communications and also provided local broadcasters with RF equipment.

Prior to that he served as the Southeast account manager for Scientific-Atlanta where he sold fiber optic, RF transmission and conditional access equipment to major cable TV MSOs.

Personally I think this is a game changer.For smlaelr facilities this could be a Avid Unity/ISIS killer, and allow facilities to invest in iMac hardware and still get all the same benefits of having a fully spec'ed out MacPro.Because it's cross platform as well you could build a killer Z800 unit with multiple GPUs and serve several iMac clients.This is seriously exciting tech hopefully we can get our hands on an early beta and play!
