Bell ExpressVu selects FOR-A’s Hanabi switcher

Bell ExpressVu, a division of Bell Canada that sells digital television services in Canada, has installed FOR-A’s Hanabi HVS-3800HS video switcher in its Vu Television HD mobile production truck.

The HVS-3800HS two mix/effect HD/SD switcher supports all major standard and high-definition formats, including 1080i, 24p, 23.98SF, and 720p. The unit’s compact 4RU frame size makes it practical for mobile production.

The switcher can configure up to five main units or control panels, making it convenient for users to set up productions from multiple locations. It has 16 standard inputs with an option for up to 28 inputs. There are 16 standard outputs.

It comes with four still stores, which can be loaded from the built-in compact flash card reader and used as inputs simultaneously. It can also be equipped with optional color correction features, which can be applied to the bus inputs and key layers.
