Avid introduces Active ContentManager

Avid Technology has announced the Avid Active ContentManager v2.1. The Avid Active ContentManager v2.1 is a customizable digital asset management and distribution solution based on technology recently acquired from iKnowledge.

The Avid Active ContentManager system solution will be available in two models - as an out-of-the box system for broadcast news facilities and as a customizable software development kit for other digital content creation environments.

Designed for easy integration with a range of production environments, the Avid Active ContentManager systems automate the process for collecting digital content from multiple sources and distributing it across numerous channels, including wireless devices, interactive television and the Internet. This type of automated functionality enables media production professionals to significantly reduce the time it takes to deliver content to a range of audiences. The Avid Active ContentManager solution will be available in two models - as an out-of-the box system for broadcast news facilities and as a customizable software development kit for other digital content creation environments.

The Avid Active ContentManager system will be released just before NAB starts as both a pre-packaged solution specifically designed for broadcast news environments and as a SDK with an API and GUI based development tools.
