Autodesk ships Combustion 4 for Macintosh

Autodesk has announced the availability of its Combustion 4 desktop visual effects software for Apple Macintosh. The application offers vector paint, particles, effects, animation and 3-D compositing.

The upgraded application for the Mac operating system streamlines the creative process for visual graphics creation by providing enhanced interoperability with third-party desktop applications, improved paint tools and workflow efficiency.

New features of the system include Diamond Keyer, a second generation of advanced keying algorithms used to remove green screen/blue screen background data in film or video. It is derived from Autodesk’s Discreet Flame, an online visual effects system, and adds a new level of keying technology.

Also new is Time-Warp, a fully key-frameable, time-remapping operator for quickly creating slow motion and speed-up effects; and B-spline vector shapes and point-grouping for faster, more efficient rotoscoping.
