Audio-Technica announces AT897 short shotgun microphone

Audio-Technica’s AT897 short shotgun gradient condenser microphone is lightweight and compact. Its 11-inch length enables it to mount on a DV camcorder without adding significant weight and remain out of the frame on wide shots. The AT897 condenser element uses a Line + Gradient polar pattern and operates on an internal battery (AA) or phantom power (9V to 48V, 2 mA). It includes an integral low-frequency roll-off switch for reduced pick-up of unwanted sounds, as well as a foam windscreen and stand adapter.
