ATSC Names Whitaker VP of Standards Development
The ATSC's board of directors has promoted Jerry Whitaker to VP, Standards Development.

Whitaker, who currently coordinates technical activities at ATSC, currently serves as secretary of the Technology Group on Distribution and is closely involved in the work of the ATSC Implementation Committee. Before joining ATSC in 2000, Whitaker was the president of the consulting and publishing firm Technical Press. He is also the author of more than 34 technical books and is a Fellow of SBE and SMPTE.

"Jerry has streamlined our standards development process by providing technical support to various subcommittees and through implementation of efficient tools for use by our member companies," said Mark Richer, ATSC president. "Jerry has also taken the lead on training and education efforts, developing seminars and web-based resources for the industry."
