Alfacam, Euro1080 select Tektronix for major upgrade of OB vans, facilities

TV facility provider Alfacam and Euro1080, Europe's first HD satellite channel, have selected several Tektronix devices for their coverage of the recently concluded Euro 2004 soccer championships and the Summer Olympics in Athens.

Alfacam and Euro1080 selected Tektronix to be an official partner to supply video/audio monitors and synchronization/signal generators for their events.

As part of the agreement, Tektronix will supply several products to refurbish existing outside broadcasting (OB) vans and to outfit newer, larger trucks in the Alfacam fleet. Some vehicles carry as many as 36 of the latest HD cameras and require complex HD and/or SD video monitoring tools.

Other facilities being outfitted include new Euro1080 studios, control rooms, editing suites and a playout center at the new Alfacam/Euro1080 media complex in Lint, Belgium. Equipment being integrated includes Tektronix's WFM700 HD/SD waveform monitors, TG700 HD/SD synchronization/signal generators and ECO422D HD/SD changeover units.

See Tektronix at IBC2004 in booth 9.429.
