ABC Sports and ESPN team with Cingular Wireless

ABC Sports and ESPN announced that they have entered into a deal with Cingular Wireless during the 2004 college football season that will enable viewers and Cingular subscribers to vote for the All-American Team, Player of the Week and Player of the Year via their cell phones.

While the nation’s sportswriters vote for the Heisman, for the first-time ever, by text messaging their picks, fans will have the opportunity to pick the Cingular Player of the Year. Voting is open to subscribers of all wireless carriers and on www.espn.com.

Each week ABC College football announcers will determine four candidates for the All-American Player of the Week. Fans can then vote all day Sunday, with the weekly player being announced Sunday night on ESPN’s “Sportscenter” program.
