Weather Channel Taps Accom for DVE

The Weather Channel recently purchased two Accom Dveous/MX universal-format digital video effects (DVE) systems for two production control rooms.

The network is currently working in SD, but an eventual upgrade to HD should be simple and require no retraining, according to Michael Smereski, Chief Engineer at The Weather Channel.

Dveous/MX can route channels, individually or combined, across six outputs. The DVE provides eight channels in SD or HD formats that can be set to work as a Dual Twin or Quad Twin system.

Other features include internal disk storage and built-in Ethernet for transfer of data and images from a network.

Accom--based in Menlo Park, Calif.--ships Dveous/MX with tools such as UltraWarp, SurfaceFX, SuperShadow, TimeFrame Effects Editor, reTouch color corrector and more.
