Thomson Inks $5M NBC Deal

NBC has extended its relationship with Thomson, agreeing to buy an additional $5 million worth of Grass Valley digital production equipment. Thomson and NBC just completed a three-year $30 million agreement.

Grass Valley equipment is being implemented in several NBC-owned stations, including WMAQ-TV, Chicago; KXAS-TV, Dallas; KNSD-TV, San Diego; and KNBC-TV, Los Angeles. In addition, GVG digital storage and new equipment installed at CNBC and multiple NBC television stations include multiple networked Profile XP servers, dozens of NewsEdit XT NLE systems and a multi-channel Grass Valley Open SAN shared storage infrastructure that connects various NBC facilities around the country.
