Thomson announced it has entered into a business alliance with the Japanese Group Funai Electric Co. LTD. Under the agreement, Thomson will give Funai an exclusive license to certain DTV patents and work with Funai to develop new DTV technology. Under a separate agreement, Thomson will provide Funai with color picture tubes (CPT).
