Station Revamps Operations With Utah Scientific Gear

WYFF television, located in Greenville, S.C., has installed a Utah-400 digital router, an MC-2020 master control switcher and a SqueezeMax effects unit, all supplied by Utah Scientific, as part of the station’s conversion to digital broadcasting.

“We’ve been a Utah customer for many years,” said Doug Durkee, director of broadcast operations at WYFF. “When necessity forced us to move from analog to digital, we were glad to stay with the company. In fact, the router I’m replacing is a 23-year-old analog router from Utah Scientific.”

The new router has been in operation at WYFF since June. The station is owned by Hearst-Argyle and operates within the nation’s number 36 Nielsen market. It is an NBC affiliate.
