Sony Releases New Line of HD Flat Panels

Sony Electronics has begun shipping 32- and 26-inch flat panel LCD HD sets to retailers. The KLV-S32A10 and KLV-S26A10 models round out Sony's "S" series--which also includes models ranging from 15- to 23-inches that are already on the market.

In the new line, video performance is supported from a panel resolution of 1366x768. The chassis has a one-chip video processor and Sony's CineMotion Reverse 3:2 Pulldown technology. The new models also feature Sony's Wega Gate graphic user interface for menu operation, along with an input skip (which displays external inputs), and a sensor that automatically measures ambient room light and adjusts picture settings accordingly.

The HD flat screens come with two 10-watt speakers and have connectivity options for HDMI, component, PC, composite and S-video inputs, as well as mounting holes compatible with VESA (Video Electronics Standards Association) compliant brackets.

The new KLV-S32A10 and KLV-S26A10 HD sets reportedly will retail for around $2,000 and $1,500, respectively. Photos and specs for Sony's entire flat panel LCD HD line are available at SonyStyle.com.
