Sky Channel Turns to Chyron for HD Graphics

The U.K.’s Sky News Channel has announced that Chyron’s Hyper X3 graphics systems have been selected as part of the equipment package for the launch of Sky News HD next year.

A total of 11 Hyper X3 systems are being purchased. They will work in concert with a CAMIO Cluster Server and order management system.

“Chyron offered us the most comprehensive combination of design capability coupled with the flexibility in design and playout stages to cope with the high demands Sky News has for speed to air and adaptability of its primary platform,” said Simon Buglione, the creative director at Sky News.

Chyron graphics productions systems have been in use at Sky News since 2007, with the Sky Sports Channel first adopting the technology.
