SBE Schedules October National Meeting in Texas

The Society of Broadcast Engineers (SBE) National Meeting is scheduled for October 19 and 20 at the Hilton DFW Lakes Executive Conference Center near DFW International Airport. On Wednesday the 19th, several SBE national committees will meet from 1 PM to 4 PM after separate morning Ennes Workshop sessions for radio and TV. The TV sessions include presentations on "Passive RF Systems and Mask Filters for Television Transmitters", "ATSC Update: The Status of DTV", "DTV Transport System Overview", "PMCP - Enabling Truly Dynamic PSIP", "Managing the DTV Closed Caption Transition", and "Engineering Considerations for Digital Microwave STL, TSL and ICR". Ennes workshop attendees may also attend an exhibit hall preview Wednesday evening. After the SBE Fellow Breakfast on Thursday morning, the exhibit hall will be open to all attendees. Certification exams and the annual membership meeting also take place Thursday, followed by a national awards reception, sponsored by Thales and the national awards dinner, sponsored by Microwave Radio.

If you are not able to attend the Dallas SBE meeting, local SBE chapters are sponsoring broadcast expos in Verona, N.Y. on Sept. 28 (SBE Chapter 22), in Greentree, Pa. (Pittsburgh) on Oct. 20 (SBE Chapter 20) and in Marlborough, Mass. (Boston) Oct. 25-26 (SBE Chapter 11). The Wisconsin Broadcasters Association and SBE Chapter 24 will hold a broadcasters clinic in Middleton, Wis. October 11-13. See the SBE Web site for information these meetings.
