- • EchoStar Satellite Operating LLC requested authority to launch and operate a Direct Broadcasting Satellite, EchoStar-14 at 118.9 degrees west longitude (WL) using DBS channels 1-21, previously assigned to EchoStar-7 in the 12.2-12.7 GHz (space-to-Earth) and 17.3-17.8 GHz (Earth-to-space) frequency bands.

- • The FCC granted XM Radio Inc.'s request for authority to launch and operate satellite XM-5 at 85.2 degrees WL as an in-orbit spare for both the Sirius and XM Radio SDARS systems in the 2320-2345 MHz (space-to-Earth) and 7025-7075 MHz (Earth-to-space) frequency bands. ViaSat has met the critical design review milestone for the VIASAT-KA1 satellite.
