Post-Newsweek Adds Chyron Axis Maps

Chyron recently announced that its Axis online map generation service has been adopted by the Post-Newsweek group of television stations. The group’s stations in Houston, San Antonio, Detroit, Miami-Ft. Lauderdale, Orlando, and Jacksonville, Fla. Have been operating in a centralized graphics hub environment and the addition of Chyron’s Axis maps services provides these stations with the ability to create highly localized template-based graphics.

“The online aspect of Axis is very appealing, because there is no additional equipment to purchase or install,” said Felica Steiger, the group’s design hub director. “Axis maps allows for map customization, banner design, and road and land colors--all of which can be stylized to match clients’ on-air graphic package[s]. For example, in a multi-city hub environment, Axis maps provides the tools for producers familiar with local roads to produce maps that are more finely tuned to their story. We are very pleased with the product.”

Chyron’s Axis allows stations to reduce the time necessary to bring graphics elements to air, enhancing productivity and providing viewers with additional information.
