PESA Brings the 2006 Olympic Games Home

PESA, a subsidiary of QuStream, is making an impact at the 2006 Olympic Games, where its routing systems are supporting international delivery of audio and video of the Games in Torino. Frame, a company that has a fleet of mobile production units based in Padua, Italy, and the European Broadcast Union based in Geneva are using PESA routers.

Frame is using the PESA Cheetah SD-HD multirate router for game coverage. The 128 x 128 router is capable of simultaneously handling SDI and HDTV signals from the IBC as well as the production group’s own sources. EBU is using a Pesa Tiger SDI router with a companion audio router and large quantity of RCP-PVPG control panels.

"In a sporting event of this magnitude, quality and reliability are critical. We’re proud that our audio and video routing systems have been selected by leading broadcasters to facilitate their live coverage of the competition in and around Torino," said Bob McAlpine, Pesa senior vice president of sales and marketing.

Northport, New York-based PESA provides analog and digital video and audio equipment for broadcast applications.
