Pentagon Channel Taps Sundance Digital for Automation

The Pentagon Channel, which transmits news and information 24 hours per day to U.S. Armed Forces, has selected Sundance Digital FastBreak NXT automation to handle scheduling and play-out of on-air transmissions.

“In order to manage the daily scheduling and on-air transmission requirements of a full time content channel, the Department of Defense needed a way to assure a consistent, professional on-air ‘look’,” said Steve Krant, Sundance Digital’s vice president of sales and marketing. “Implementing a broadcast-caliber automation system gave them a highly customizable, cost-effective package for achieving those goals.”

The Pentagon Channel’s FastBreak NXT system includes four Media Prep stations, an SQL data server with auto-failover redundancy and Sundance’s Intelli-Sat for managing the scheduling and recording of satellite feeds.

The Pentagon Channel reached 2.6 million members of the U.S. Armed Forces at both stateside locations and overseas posts and bases.
