Panasonic Enables Portable HD Production for JPL

HARRISBURG, PA.: JPL Integrated Communications, Inc. recently acquired shoulder-mount camcorders and a multi-format switcher from Panasonic as part of their new portable, HD production unit.
The Harrisburg, Pa.-based strategic communications firm purchased four AG-HPX370 P2 HD camcorders and an AV-HS450N multi-format switcher to be used in their studio and as part of a flypack for work in the field. JPL has been a partner with Panasonic for several years, previously shooting with numerous P2 models including AG-HPX500 shoulder-mounts and AG-HVX200A handhelds.
“This system offers new opportunities for events to be presented, captured and broadcast in high-definition,” said Paul Grosso, JPL’s vice-president of media production, in a press release. “The HPX370s afforded us an easy migration within the P2 family of products, and the camcorders are equally at home in the studio or at off-site events.” He went on to state “the Panasonic system can be easily rolled into studios—our own or others--and can handle an on-site event of any size with a high degree of flexibility,”
JPL produced the most recent Pennsylvania gubernatorial candidate forum for WHTM-TV and PCN-TV (Pa.’s C-SPAN) using a Panasonic multi-camera setup. Longtime clients of the company include The Hershey Company, Giant Food Stores and the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry.
