Mira Rolls Out HD Dual-Feed with Fujinon Lenses

Mira Mobile Television has unveiled its new HD, dual-feed production truck, M-5.

Equipped with 11 Fujinon lenses, the M-5 enables crews to produce two different shows simultaneously. The first show produced in HD was the professional basketball match between the Sacramento Kings and the Charlotte Bobcats.

The M-5 comes with four XA72x9.3BESM and two XA87x9.3BESM HD zoom lenses, two HA13x4.5BERM wide-angle HD lenses and three HA22x7.8 BERM ENG-Style HD lenses. The lenses are attached to Sony HDC-900 and HDC-950 HD cameras.

The Fujinon XA87 HD zoom lenses maintain the crisp detail necessary throughout the length of the lens and have minimal ramping of the f-stop throughout the length of the zoom, according to Rick Hayes, chief engineer, Mira Mobile Television, based in Portland, Ore.
