KTKA-TV Upgrades to Digital Broadcast MediaFire

ABC affiliate KTKA-TV in Topeka, Kan., recently installed a Digital Broadcast MediaFire Automated Master Control System with the ability to air HD as well as SD content.

The MediaFire gear includes automation control of the station’s router, switcher and satellite system.

Digital Broadcast directly interfaces with Pathfire, DG FastChannel and Vyvx media delivery services. With Digital Broadcast’s Pathfire interface, HD and/or SD programming received via satellite into the Pathfire server is automatically transferred to the MediaFire play-out server, ready to air.

No format conversion or program timing is required.

“KTKA needed to expand their operations and Digital Broadcast provided an economical and effective automation solution and they are fully integrated with our servers,” said Engineer Tom Petti.
