KCBD-TV Goes Digital with Crispin

November 5, 2004
NBC affiliate KCBD-TV recently installed the Crispin System 2000 at its facility in Lubbock, Texas.

The System 2000 suite supports satellite recording, ingest, management and control of four channels for on-air playback. RapidPlayX is Crispin's on-air playback tool that provides playlist monitoring and control. Operators at KCBD can create and load playlists, edits events and issue playlist commands. RapidPlayX loads daily program and records schedules and updates events when material is on the video server or updated in AssetBase, the Web-enabled database by Crispin.

DeviceServer--another Crispin tool--controls four Sony VTRs and two Grass Valley Profile video servers.

Other Crispin tools include Dubber, which controls multiple source devices that are used to prepare video for air and Mapper, which converts the station's wide orbit traffic schedule into an automated playlist.
