HD Shopping Coming Soon to QVC

Multimedia retailer QVC said it will ramp up an HD simulcast of its SD broadcast feed by early 2008, calling it “the next logical step” as a means to enhance the attraction of its various products offered to viewers.

QVC, based in West Chester, Pa., already has begun updating its sets and is adding new graphics for its HD launch as part of its overall “multi-tiered brand campaign” that began in October. It’s the shopping network’s first national advertising campaign in its 21-year history, as it continues an evolution from SD to HD, as well as from a TV shopping venue into a multimedia retailer.

QVC is a wholly owned subsidiary of Liberty Media Corporation.
