Genesis Networks Expands Services With Globecomm

Genesis Networks, a provider of video transmission services over fiber and satellite, has teamed up with Globecomm Network Services Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of Globecomm Systems Inc. The deal gives Genesis Networks a New York Teleport presence for providing direct access to satellites serving both U.S. and International areas.

Hauppauge, N.Y.- based GSI provides satellite-based communication products and services. The GSI New York Teleport is directly linked to Genesis' global fiber-optic network, providing seamless connectivity to local sites in the New York area, as well as all broadcast hubs and media points of presence within North and South America, Europe, and Asia.

The GSI New York Teleport handles C-band and Ku-band transmissions, with booking available for media and data transmission customers on a contractual basis and the planned addition of an occasional-use booking service. Genesis Networks also provides assistance to customers with provisioning transponder space through its satellite partners.

"This new venture with Globecomm gives Genesis Networks' clients seamless digital access to anywhere in the world by satellite and through our global fiber optic network," said Paul Dujardin, president and CEO of Genesis Networks. "Customers maintain the highest quality signal transmission because there is no unnecessary conversion between video formats."
