Florical Systems has added several new features from Omneon's Spectrum media servers to enhance workflow.
The new features include closed-captioning verification and status reporting and LAN-based API control of content for asset management functions. Also, Omneon servers are now fully implemented into the Florical broadcast system configuration.
Closed-captioning used to require two real-time playbacks of the program to be captioned. The new closed captioning system streamlines the process because adding the captioning data to the video file on in Omneon server can be performed close to four times real time.
The Florical system checks the data in the Omneon server, determines whether closed-captioning has been added and reports back to operators prior to airing.
