Entertainment Industries Council Spreading DTV Word

The Entertainment Industries Council Inc. (EIC) is now working with the NAB to help spread the news about the upcoming transition to digital television broadcasting in the United States.

The two organizations met with more than 30 groups committed to publicizing the DTV cutover in 2009. The event, “Picture This: DTV and the Faces of Transition,” was held at NAB’s Washington headquarters and included entertainment industry panelists who spoke about the industry’s position in educating the public about the DTV conversion.

“NAB is spearheading an aggressive and thorough national outreach effort to ensure that no one is left unprepared when the government-mandated transition from analog to digital television broadcasting occurs,” said David Rehr, NAB president and CEO.

Brian Dyak, EIC president and CEO, said that his organization was pleased to have been selected by the NAB as part of the working body that will try to ensure that no one is left behind when America’s broadcasters end their 70 years of full-power analog television transmissions next February.
