Satellite entertainment provider DirecTV plans to carry the East Coast SHO HDTV channel starting on April 30. SHO HDTV is the third HD channel to be carried on DirecTV and will be available 24 hours a day on channel 543.
Showtime Networks has two dedicated HDTV channels and broadcasts in 1080i. It also broadcasts in Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound with HDTV. Content includes Showtime Original movies and series like "Queer as Folk," and major Hollywood films.
