Ascent Media Network Services (AMNS) has selected Front Porch Digital as its archive system provider for global origination facilities that serve Discovery Communications.
The Front Porch DIVArchive (Distributed Intelligent Versatile Archive) software will support production and playout in 60 of Discovery's 90 global networks, serving subscribers in North America, Europe and Asia.
Discovery plans to migrate to file-based platforms, enabling enterprise-wide access to video assets. DIVArchive simplifies the process of managing and accessing Discovery content by facilitating interoperability between the facilities' digital media storage devices, video servers, editing systems and digital media workflow applications.
