Ascent Media Appoints VP of Operations to Head Up UK Content Management Services

Ascent Media Group has announced that Simon Constable has joined the company in the UK as vice president of operations for content management services. Previously Managing Director of Technicolor Creative Services in Perivale, London, Constable brings more than a decade of experience of operations management in the broadcast industry to his new role.

Constable is responsible for overseeing operations at Ascent Media's Wardour Street facility which provides content management services; including telecine mastering, format and standards conversion, duplication, digital restoration, encoding and Ascent Media's digital asset management solution for file-based repository and repurposing workflows. He is also leading the development of new operational workflows that will enable integrated project management for clients across Ascent Media's facilities – including St. Anne's Post for the Broadcast market and One Post for the Feature Film market.

Constable's career began back in 1993, as a Technical Operator for Star TV (News Corp Hong Kong). Since then he has steadily progressed, becoming Facility Coordinator for Vidfilm Hong Kong two years later, where he was soon promoted to Operations Manager at its Singapore post production facility and later moved to head up the UK operations of Vidfilm International. In 2002 he joined Technicolor as Director of Operations. He has been serving as Managing Director of Technicolor Creative Services since last year.
