Arizona Cable Station Going HD With Grass Valley

The city-owned local origination cable channel in Glendale, Ariz. has announced plans to convert to high-definition operations with equipment supplied by Grass Valley.

The City of Glendale is purchasing a Kayak HD production switcher, five LDK 8000 HD cameras and a Concerto routing system. A new control room is being constructed around this equipment.

The cable channel operates 24/7 and is carried on both Cox Cable and Qwest Cable distribution systems. It provides local news and sports coverage, as well as informational programming.

The cable channel has won a number of national awards, including several Telly Awards for its achievements.
