AmberFin Names Bruce Devlin CTO

AmberFin has appointed Bruce Devlin its new chief technology officer. He will be responsible for leading strategy and vision at the company.

Prior to his new role, Devlin was vice president of technology at AmberFin, guiding the company on video file, workflow and systems issues. Previously he was at Snell & Wilcox for 15 years. He also has experience at both the BBC and Thomson.

Devlin holds several patents in the field of compression and files and has contributed to books on media, MPEG and file formats. He was previously one of the founding developers of the MXF File Format Specification, which was recently awarded a technical Emmy.
