AJA Video Unveils New SD/HD Capture Card

AJA Video Systems has introduced a new video capture card for PCI Express Power Mac G5 computers. The company promises 40 percent more processing power with the new card, the Kona 3. The announcement was made at the MacWorld Expo in San Francisco. AJA plans to begin shipping the cards on a worldwide basis near the end of this month.

The card supports all SD and HD formats and can capture and playback in uncompressed 8- or 10-bit video and 24-bit 48 kHz audio. The Kona 3 can also perform SD/HD up- and downconversions and provides users with a hardware keyer for compositing bugs or live clips over video. It is utilized in conjunction with Final Cut Pro software.

John Abt, AJA Video Systems CEO said, "Kona 3 furthers the AJA commitment of offering the highest quality, production-proven, reliable solutions that bring professional digital video to the desktop."
