Stratos Optical to show HMC connector at IBC2007

Stratos Optical Technologies will make the European debut of its HMC (hermaphroditic miniaturized connector) expanded beam fiber-optic connector at IBC2007.

Now available in two- and four-channel configurations, the HMC offers the reliability benefits of expanded beam technology in a more compact format, which is convenient for use on smaller, portable equipment, as well as for high-density connector panels. The diameter of the HMC is a little more than 3/4in, which is small enough for use with HD broadcast cameras and disk recorders.

The HMC provides broadcast equipment manufacturers with an option for incorporating a fiber connector on their products that can stand up to a harsh environment.
