Sat-Comm selects Brick House Video Callisto for DSNG vehicle

Designed for maximum functionality in tight quarters, Brick House Video’s Callisto SDI/composite switcher has been selected by Sat-Comm to furnish its latest compact Cygnus van with switching features.

Sat-Comm, a U.K. satellite and broadcast systems integrator, specializes in flight-cased and vehicle-borne SNG systems.

Despite its compact size, Cygnus operates at the level of a much larger vehicle. A member of the company’s Galaxy range of digital satellite newsgathering (DSNG) fleet, Cygnus is designed for immediate response to breaking news. It features a compact SNG solution, including a fully redundant uplink system. The small footprint of Callisto makes the switcher well suited for this application.

The 1RU Calllisto is an SMPTE-259M, 8-input, 270Mb video switcher and DSK designed for studio, edit suite and transmission applications. Callisto can handle fully asynchronous signals in an SDI and analog mixed signal environment.
