Prestonwood Baptist Church adds nine Fujinon HD lenses

Megachuch Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano, TX, has selected an array of Fujinon HD lenses as part of a major equipment upgrade.

Nine Fujinon HD lenses have been positioned throughout the 7000-seat worship center. The church selected two HA88x8.8BESM telephoto field lenses with Precision Focus, which are stationed in the back of the worship center. This lens size was chosen for its ability to capture the church’s architecture as well as to give viewers a close shot of the choir and the pulpit.

Three HA27x6.5BESM premium studio lenses, with Precision Focus Assist, focus breathing compensation and advanced back focus also were chosen. These lenses are being positioned in the choir loft and in front of the pulpit area.

For dramatic production shots, one HA13x4.5BERM super wide-angle ENG/EFP with 2X range extender was selected. It will be used on a CamMate jib throughout the worship center. Three HSS18x5.5BRD standard focal length lenses will be used on robotic cameras in various positions as well. The lenses will be mounted on three Sony HDC 1400 portable HD cameras, three Sony HDC 1000 studio HD cameras and two Sony HDC-X310 compact remote control HD cameras.

The church has planned the first use of the new equipment for May 11, Mother’s Day.

The Best Deconstruction of a 4K Shoot You'll Ever Read
With higher resolutions and larger HD screens, wide shots using very wide lenses can be a problem because they allow viewers to see that infinity doesn’t quite resolve into perfect sharpness.
