Hitachi to introduce digital triax for SD broadcast

The new TU-CX-Z4 digital triax for SDTV system from Hitachi Kokusai Electric America digitally transmits uncompressed audio and video between camera and the camera control unit (CCU), as well as provides fully digital returns and intercom.

The end result is a transparent digital transmission system that does not change the way users work with standard triax cable camera systems. Hitachi's new digital triax system works with all currently manufactured broadcast and professional cameras and is ideally suited for broadcast and production studios that need the most pristine picture quality.

Hitachi’s Digital Triax for SDTV system will be introduced at NAB2006 in April and is scheduled to ship in the fourth quarter of 2006.
