Hitachi develops P2 HD dockable recorder

Panasonic and Hitachi Kokusai Electric are collaborating to develop peripherals and systems compatible with Panasonic P2 HD solid-state recording, the companies announced at NAB2008.

Hitachi is developing a P2 HD-supported dockable recorder that can be used with its own SK-HD1000 multistandard HD camera. This recorder supports both DVCPRO HD and the AVC-Intra codec and will be officially released in 2009. Hitachi showed a working sample at the NAB convention.
