AccuWeather.com announces online video player

AccuWeather.com has announced a new video-on-demand player, powered by Brightcove, for its archive of thousands of weather videos.

With more than 500 new weather videos created each day and an extensive library of magazine and lifestyle weather videos, the new player allows users to more easily locate and share the videos with user-friendly functionality and flexibility.

The library features tabbed content with videos divided into five channel categories: weather, expert analysis, cities, lifestyle, fun and broadcasters. Users can browse and search breaking weather videos, local weather news segments and other special-interest weather programming within each category.

In addition to improved navigation, the player also offers features to customize each user’s experience. After selecting a video on the current conditions page, the player will generate similar content that may be of interest. AccuWeather.com VOD viewers can also create playlists and easily share videos with friends.
