Zhejiang TV to upgrade two studios to HD

Zhejiang TV Satellite Channel in mainland China has committed to improving its video production facilities from acquisition to distribution with new HD technology and systems from Grass Valley.

The deal valued at about $1 million will center on upgrading the network’s two digital studios from SD operation to HD capability. The new studios will be fully operational and on the air in the fall of 2009.

Among the new Grass Valley products are: eight LDK 8000 Elite HD cameras, two Kalypso HD 2M/E video production switchers, one Kayak HD 2M/E switcher, a Trinix NXT 128 x 128 video router and two K2 HD media servers. The equipment will be used to produce news, live sports and entertainment programs.
