WOIO-TV puts local newscasts on-air in HD with JVC cameras
Raycom-owned WOIO-TV, the CBS affiliate in Cleveland, has converted its local newscasts to HD with JVC’s GY-HD250 ProHD cameras.
As the first Raycom station to make the switch to HD, WOIO-TV airs eight hours of news a day using JVC cameras as the station’s primary studio news cameras for its live morning, noon, evening and nightly news programs.
WOIO-TV has the GY-HD250s, which are operated via Vinten Radamec broadcast robotics, set up on pedestals in a studio configuration. One operator controls the pan, tilt, focus and zoom functions for all four cameras throughout each newscast.
Raycom’s CBS affiliate, WTVR-TV in Richmond, VA, also has upgraded to the JVC GY-HD250s.
