WABC New York broadcasts local news in HD

The ABC network’s flagship New York station WABC-TV is now broadcasting the studio portions of its local news in HD. Field reports are still in standard definition.

The switch was made with little fanfare. WABC is the second Big Apple station to take the leap to HD. WNBC-TV began doing HD news in September.
