Vela debuts Argus HD encoder

Vela introduced the real-time Argus HD encoder at NAB2007.

The Argus HD encoder offers frame-accurate 4:2:0 and 4:2:2 encoding, HD-SDI input, support for all ATSC standards, embedded audio in the SDI stream and Dolby Digital support. This versatile HD encoder simplifies the process of creating and storing HD MPEG content.

The Argus HD supports VBR/CBR encoding, 708B closed captioning, 3:2 pulldown detection and support for all popular frame rates and resolutions. The PCI board level Argus HD works in real time, further enhancing its value to users.

For those wanting a ready-to-use HD encoder, the Argus HD is available with Vela’s integrated RecordAdvantage end-user software GUI. The Argus HD encoder complements Vela’s HD decoder product family, which also includes the new CineView HD Pro decoder.
