U.K. rental house buys Eyeheight irisHDi switcher

Transmission (TX), one of Britain's leading equipment rental companies, has added an Eyeheight irisHDi eight-input production switcher to its inventory. Based at Shepperton Studios in southwest London, TX provides a wide range of broadcast shooting facilities, mostly working in the 1080i HD format.

Eyeheight’s irisHDi features eight HD-SDI inputs, program/preset control and two auxiliary bus outputs. There’s also video mix, wipe and cut, as well as U and V fades/transitions under manual or automatic control. Structured as an 8 x 4 HD-SDI crosspoint router and dual-input HD-SDI production switcher, the irisHDi is fully field upgradeable. The switcher incorporates an IP protocol, giving system integrators and operational staff the reliability of Eyeheight's firmware-based platform plus the speed and efficiency of true online engineering support.
