Thomson marks HD milestone with DIRECTV

Thomson delivered last week its millionth HD set-top box to DIRECTV.

DIRECTV is enjoying significant growth not only in HD but also in DVR services, and is on target to offer up to 100 HD channels to its customer base by the end of this year. In support of this trend, the HD and HD-DVR set-top box platforms developed by Thomson feature MPEG-4 advanced compression decoding functionality.
