Sony demos HD version of XDCAM technology

Sony Electronics conducted a technology demonstration of an HD version of its XDCAM Professional Disc system at NAB2005.

According to the company, the demo served as a chance to gather industry input before finalizing product plans.

As envisioned by Sony, an HD version of XDCAM will allow professionals to combine HD resolution with the IT-based workflow enhancements available in the current XDCAM system and maintain compatibility with the current PFD-23 Professional Disc media.
