SMPTE 2008 to examine latest emerging entertainment technologies

SMPTE 2008: Annual Tech Conference & Expo Oct. 28-30, 2008, at the Renaissance Hotel in Hollywood, CA, will offer a look at many of the latest important entertainment technologies that have emerged, including 3-D HD stereographic production and presentation.

The three-day conference and trade show will be preceded by a special preconference. SMPTE 2008 will feature keynotes, white papers, case studies and tutorials from industry leaders worldwide who will detail their findings and experience on a broad range of topics, from stereoscopic 3-D theatrical and home entertainment to asset management via metadata and IPTV.

According to its organizers, SMPTE 2008 will offer more educational sessions than previous shows. More than 55 percent of the tendered research came from experts outside the United States.
