SeaChange serves up largest HD platform deployment in Australia

SeaChange International has deployed a 140-channel HD play-to-air platform at Macquarie Southern Cross Media (MCSM) in Canberra, Australia.

MCSM is using SeaChange’s Broadcast MediaLibrary/MediaClient play-to-air platform, which includes several BML transmission storage servers and MCL software codecs. The system is providing the broadcaster with 60 ingest and playout channels for programming and 80 ingest and playout channels for commercials, as well as turnaround delay.

The servers enable MCSM staff to play back legacy SD files in the Pinnacle Mediastream format and replay it in HD, automatically upconverting it. The servers’ RAID squared architecture ensures reliability. Magna Systems served as integrator on the project.
