Rainbow Media to launch VOOM 21 HD

Rainbow Media Holdings will launch VOOM 21 HD Originals, 21 high-definition channels that remain after the shuttering of the VOOM HD satellite network.

Rainbow Media will distribute VOOM 21 HD Originals to cable operators and satellite TV providers. The company also has concluded its first major carriage agreement for the channels with EchoStar Communications, which will carry 10 of the HD channels on its DISH Network. DISH will pick up the remaining 11 by 2006. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.

VOOM 21 HD Originals include: Animania HD, Auction HD, Equator HD, Gallery HD, HD News, Lab HD, Monsters HD, Rave HD, Rush HD, Ultra HD, WorldSport HD and 10 HD movie channels.
