QVC to launch HD simulcast in ’08

Shopping network QVC announced Nov. 9 that it would launch an HD simulcast of its domestic broadcast in the first quarter of 2008.

According to QVC senior VP of broadcasting and TV sales Angie Simmons, HD “is the next logical step” in providing enhanced programming. The HD simulcast will deliver “stunning clarity” that lets the network “bring our products to life,” she said.

QVC has been updating its “storefront” with fresh sets and new graphics as part of its multitiered brand campaign, launched last month.
